Looking for a therapist in Rhode Island?
We just might be a great fit if:
You are a gen z or millennial who has experienced sexual abuse or assault or if you are a queer person who has been hurt by family, organizations or religions for your lived experiences.
This is probably the part where I’m supposed to tell you about my education, and all the reasons why you should work with me. Let’s be honest though, in reality you’re wondering if we could be a fit. The important thing to you though is knowing if you could sit across from me in order to feel heard and understood. And you’re wondering if I can help.
I’m in my early thirties and I tend to keep things as real as possible. In particular, cheering folks on is one of my favorite things. If you come in and tell me about a win? I will absolutely give you a “Fuck Yeah!” and hype you up. You come in a teary mess? No problem, we can sit cross legged, and we can talk all about it.
I try to be the type of therapist I would want to work with as a client.
This means that I’ll show up fully as myself, while letting you take the time you need. We will work together to build safety, while always leaving some room for dark humor (if that’s your thing). I believe in the types of therapy that I use, moreover I believe in the healing experience of human connection. My hope is that you, as my client, will benefit from both.
Before becoming a therapist, I received a Biblical Studies degree and a Family and Church Education degree from Columbia International University. I then spent years working with family ministries at churches in the Bible Belt. My master’s degree was also obtained from a Biblical university, due to that, there was a focus on incorporating spirituality into mental health work. While I am not currently affiliated with any religion, denomination, or organized practice, I now enjoy working with folks from all spiritual practices as they seek healing.
